Staff TrainingAt any given time 95 per cent of Venue Security staff hold a current Certificate of Approval to operate within the security industry. Their training is completed on-the-job at Mount Smart Stadium and the company is currently endeavouring to increase its numbers of qualified first aiders.
The company is also involved in developing a Calming & Restraint module with assistance from shareholder Derek Moors.
Tony Robinson, who is a qualified assessor for NZQA will be facilitating the courses. A number of the units in the course are not just industry specific which means they transfer over to other work areas, e.g. health and safety, communication, customer service. Whilst we will have a security view on these topics, they ultimately are relative in many other work and life situations.
